Is cereal soup?

Soup is solid food in a liquid, eaten with a spoon, from a bowl. Cereal is solid food in milk, eaten with a spoon, from a bowl. You cannot escape this.
Soup is cooked. Soup has a broth or a stock. Nobody simmers Cheerios. Cereal is cereal, the same way a salad is not a sandwich.
The Judge's ruling
Ruling: Dev's definition is a definition of 'things in a bowl.' Merriam-Webster defines soup as a liquid food, typically with a meat, fish, or vegetable stock as its base, often containing solid pieces. The base is the point. Milk is not a stock, nothing is cooked, and the liquid is not the dish, it's the delivery system. By Dev's logic, ice cubes in water are soup and a bowl of strawberries and cream is soup. A court has to stop somewhere.
Sentence: Dev may continue to say it at parties, but only at parties. Cole owes Dev a bowl of actual soup for the trouble.
