🏠 Co-Parenting

Co-parenting messages that don't turn into fights.

SharedChat's Co-Parenting room puts both parents and a neutral AI coordinator in one live thread. The coordinator never takes sides, keeps the conversation about the kids and the schedule, and, when a message reads as heated, holds it and offers a calmer version before it sends. Nothing is blocked. Nothing goes out without you.

How it works

Neutral ground between two households.

Both parents, one thread

Invite your co-parent by link. Everything (the swap request, the pickup change, the reply) lives in one place you both see live.

A coordinator that won't pick a side

It's written into the room: no winners, no blame, the focus stays on the kids and the logistics. Custody and legal questions are pointed to an attorney, not answered.

The calm-down step

Type something heated and the room holds it: "Take a breath. Want to rephrase?" with a calmer version that keeps your point. Use it, or send the original anyway. Your call, every time.

Neutral summaries

Ask "where did we land on the weekend?" and get a plain, even-handed recap instead of scrolling back through the argument.

A sample exchange

The weekend swap.

You ALWAYS do this. I'm done being flexible with your schedule.
Held before sending

Take a breath. Want to rephrase?

Your message reads as heated. A calmer version keeps the focus on the schedule:

I'm frustrated by the last-minute changes. Can we agree on a plan for weekend swaps so I can plan around it?
Use calmer version · Send anyway
Honest comparison

What the co-parenting apps do that we don't, and the reverse.

OurFamilyWizard, TalkingParents and Kidtime keep court-friendly records, shared calendars and expense logs, and they charge per parent, roughly $99 to $352 a year each. SharedChat doesn't do the paperwork. What it does that they're not built for: put both parents and a neutral third voice in one live conversation. Many families use both.

Questions

Co-Parenting, answered.

Does my co-parent have to agree to use it?

They need to open your link and sign in to reply, so yes, they're choosing to be in the room. If they won't, you can still use the room on your own to draft the calmer version of what you want to say.

Will the AI take my side if I explain the situation?

No, and that's the point. It's instructed in writing never to pick a winner between parents. It will help both of you get to a plan; it won't help either of you build a case.

Can it be used as evidence in court?

SharedChat isn't designed as a court-record system. If you need documented, admissible records, keep an app like OurFamilyWizard or TalkingParents for that and use SharedChat for the actual conversation.

Does it block heated messages?

Never. It pauses and offers a calmer version. "Send anyway" always works. You stay in control of what you say.

Is it priced per parent?

No. The free plan covers all six rooms. Plus is $9.99 a month. Your co-parent can be on the free plan.
