SharedChat vs. everyone else

Group chat with AI isn't new. A fair one is.

ChatGPT and Poe both let several people share one AI thread — we're not going to pretend otherwise. Here's exactly where they stop, where the "settle it" apps stop, where the co-parenting apps stop, and what we built instead.

Where they're better than us (yes, really)

We'd rather you hear it from us.

  • ChatGPT has a far bigger user base, more people per group, and years of polish. If your group is already there and you just want an AI in the thread, it works — you'll write the "be impartial" instructions yourself, every time.
  • Poe lets you put 200 people and a huge roster of models in one chat. If you want to compare many AIs at once, that's its strength.
  • Co-parenting apps like OurFamilyWizard and TalkingParents keep court-friendly records, calendars, and expense logs. We don't do that. Many families use one of those for the paperwork and SharedChat for the actual conversation.
  • "Settle it" apps are cheap and fun for a bar bet. If nobody needs to talk it through, they're fine.
The short version

Everyone else added a group to the chat. We added fairness to the group.

Six purpose-built rooms, a judge that needs both sides, coordinators that won't pick a winner, a calm-down step before heated messages, and guardrails tested on the hard conversations — all in one shared thread everyone sees at once.
