Dishes as you go, or all at the end?
One of you wants a clean counter while cooking. One of you wants to enjoy the meal and deal with it later. Both sides, a ruling, and a sentence. Below: both sides as they'd actually put it, then the ruling The Judge gives when two people bring this one into a Settle It room.

Clean as you go. Rinse the pot while the sauce simmers, and there's nothing to face after dinner. You cooked; you don't get to also build a monument.
I'll do it after. Cooking is the fun part. Stopping to scrub every three minutes ruins it, and the dishes are the same dishes either way.
The Judge's ruling
Ruling: Ava is right that dishes are cheaper to clean warm than crusted, and that a clean counter mid-cook is a real quality-of-life gain. Ben is right that nobody is obligated to scrub during the interesting part. The compromise most kitchens already use: rinse and stack as you go, which takes seconds, and wash after, which takes the same time it always did. The court notes the actual argument is not about dishes. It is about whether 'I'll do it later' has a deadline.
Sentence: Rinse-and-stack while cooking is mandatory. 'Later' means before anyone sits down on the couch. The person who says 'I'll do it later' twice in one night loses cooking privileges for a week.
